We are excited to extend a heartfelt invitation to you and your congregation for the Oahu Baptist Network Annual Meeting, which will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 5 PM. This year’s gathering will take place at the First Southern Baptist Church of Pearl Harbor, and we look forward to an inspiring evening together.
The theme for this year's meeting is “Healthy Church, Healthy Network”, drawing from the principles found in Romans 12. As we reflect on this theme, our goal is to strengthen our connections, support each other, and build up our network of churches for greater impact and ministry. According to our by-laws, your church can send "five messengers for the first 50 members, not to exceed a total of fifteen messengers" and guests are welcome. Please register to this link your messengers and guests and also indicate if you would be needing childcare. There are several decisions will be made that day so look out for the mailout that has information regarding:
Your presence and participation will be a valuable part of our time together. Please join us for a time of fellowship, shared vision, and mutual encouragement as we work towards fostering vibrant and thriving communities of faith. Other than registrations, we have released "A Healthy Church Assessment Tool" to guide you in the upcoming emphasis. All information collected is intended to help our churches work together to build healthier churches for missions. Colossians 1:27 - "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
The greatest mystery is God becoming man. What is in man that thou are mindful of him? So many religions struggle on the incarnation of God but with God nothing is impossible. Christ declared, "he who hath seen me, hath seen the Father." The second greatest mystery is God coming in man. Paul declared that "Christ in you." In the same token we express once more, What is man that thou are mindful of him? There is nothing, but God-Christ comes into those who receives and willing to follow Him. "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God..." The third greatest mystery is that Christ is revealed beyond His children, the Israelites. Christ is now made known among the Gentiles - that is you and me. The glorious truth is declared simply in that scripture many has known as the heart of God's truth - For God so loved the world. This is the heart of our celebration - the mystery of God - Christ in you. A brand new year and great ministry adventure are what is ahead for Oahu Baptist Network. I want to thank you for being faithful to your ministry calling here in Oahu. Our ministry rests on this foundation Jesus declared to Peter, “the gates of hell will not prevail” against the church (cf. Matt. 16:18). As Oahu Baptist Network, we do God’s mission together. Your Leadership Team is committed to fulfill the six emphases this year.
