Robert was born and raised in Honolulu and came to know the Lord as his Savior at the age of 19. His first ministry was with Kohala Baptist Church on the Big Island as a church planter/pastor. He later served as State Director of Evangelism & Church Planting with the Hawai'i Pacific Baptist Convention (HPBC) for five years. In 2002 he returned to the pastorate with Wai'alae Baptist Church and served this congregation for 12 years. Then in April 2014 Robert started his ministry as OBN Facilitator. Prior to this latest assignment Robert served as OBN Moderator and HPBC President. Robert graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div and D.Min.) in Fort Worth, Texas. He is married to Beverly. They have three married children and three grandchildren. Robert enjoys golf and home improvement.z
Bill Tayor Business Administrator
Bill was born in the hills of East Tennessee and came to know the Lord while in the second grade. He joined the U.S. Air Force in October 1968 and served as a Chapel Management Specialist for 23 years doing administrative/financial support for the Chaplain’s office at the bases he was assigned to. He was ordained as a deacon at First Southern Baptist Church of Pearl Harbor in the fall of 1976. He has a Master of Religious Education degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Library Science degree from University of North Texas. Bill and his wife, Linda are members of Nuuanu Baptist Church. Bill began his bookkeeping ministry with Oahu Baptist Network in August 2018.
Carlye Lawrence International Ministries
Carlye has served as the Director of International Ministries (IM) since 2011. Prior to that she served a total of 3 years on staff at IM, and graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. God has grown her heart for international student ministry through the varied cross-cultural ministry opportunities He has given her: growing up in Hawaii’s melting pot of cultures, gaining a BA in International Relations from Chaminade University, studying and working in China for 2 years, serving with a Korean-English congregation, international mission trips, as well as encouraging missions through WMU Hawaii. Carlye serves as a NAMB missionary. With her staff and OBN volunteers, they welcome, befriend, share the Gospel, and disciple international students, scholars and their families at UH Manoa, HPU and KCC.
